She was born Oct. 8, 1948, in Superior, Wis., the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Kennedy) Schultz.

Mary was a 1966 graduate of Superior Senior High School and also attended WITC Superior.

She was employed by the Douglas County Sheriff's Department in Superior and also by Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center in Chippewa Falls.

Mary was a life-long supporter of the Green Bay Packers.

Mary is survived by: one son, Jon Jablonski of Duluth, Minn.; a daughter, Amy Chen and a granddaughter, Jordan Chen both of Chippewa Falls; two sisters, Audrey Backlund and Marjo (Lawrence) Mencel both of Superior; and a brother, Larry (Janice) Rygg also of Superior; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary was lovingly cared for in her final months by her daughter, Amy, granddaughter, Jordan and sister, Marjo Mencel.

Family, friends and neighbors sustained Mary with support and encouragement during her illness.

Mary's great joy was the birth of Jordan in 2005 who brought brightness, love and laughter and they shared a close bond. Their time together was too short but thank you God for that time.

Mary and I were friends at Blaine Elementary and Ericsson Jr. High. She was always a lot of fun and a sweet person. I also worked with her wonderful daughter Amy. My condolences to her children and to her sister Marjo. Julie Hillestad
