Jerry Semanko, 64, Superior, died Monday, March 12, 2012.

Jerry Semanko, 64, Superior, died Monday, March 12, 2012, at his residence.

He was born on Dec. 30, 1947, in Battle Mountain, Nev., to Gilbert and Florine (Compton) Semanko.

Jerry liked to play pool, softball and go bowling. He enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, the Packers and playing cards.

He is survived by his father, Gilbert Semanko, Poplar; his mother, Florine (James) Hauser, Bayfield; two sisters, Sherry (David) Burton III, Redlands, Calif., Rena (Brett) Nelson, Iron River, Wis.; two brothers, Terry (Shelly) Semanko, Lake Nebagamon, Todd (Kathy) Semanko, Iron River; nine nephews, Troy, David, Michael, Daniel, Derek, Kyle, Scott, Sam and Austin; and six nieces, Laura, Kimberly, Kari, Reggie, Jessie and Lexie.

Jerry was preceded in death by a brother Larry Semanko.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. until the 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial Monday, March 19 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lake Nebagamon, with Rev. Don Kania as celebrant.

Burial will be in the Lake Nebagamon Cemetery at a later date.

Jerry’s family would like to thank the R.E.M. House staff, the staff at Northern Bridges especially Sarah, Sam, Rene, Kelly, Sue and Jill.

Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

I remember good times and some not so good with Jerry when Larry and I were dating and took him on some of our dates. Your whole family has always been in my thoughts and prayers. No less today. Cherish all the good memories. Lynette (Korhonen) Kesler
