Laura J. (Brew) Bunnell, 51, of Lake Nebagamon, died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at her residence.

Laura J. (Brew) Bunnell, 51, of Lake Nebagamon, died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at her residence.

She was born in Superior Aug. 5, 1960, the daughter of Mary and Robert Brew, Sr. She married Dennis Bunnell in April of 2004.

Laura enjoyed telling jokes and pulling pranks, she always was the life of the party. She was very crafty and artsy, and liked to draw and paint. Her favorite times during the year were the holidays and she would always decorate and dress up for them. Most important to her was taking care of the kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews. She loved animals and cared for and rescued many.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mothers, Maxine Brew and Suki Brew; a brother, Francis Brew; niece, Lacey Gayken; and best friend, Susan Almer.

Laura is survived by her husband, Dennis; step-children, Lisa (Sajid) Chavez-Bunnell, Sarasota, Fla., Dennis Bunnell, Jr., Superior, Kristi (Matt) Moos, Superior, Donald (Janelle Little) Bunnell, South Range, Kara Jo (Chris Kujava) Bunnell, Superior and Riley Gibson-Bunnell, Bennett; 10 step-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, David (Bette Abrahamzon) Brew, Superior, Cindee (Scott) Archambault, Cloquet, Minn., Michael (Gracie) Brew, Superior, Kathleen (Chris) Maciejeski, Superior, Robert Brew, Jr., Maple, Cheryl Brew, Superior, Nancy Brew Archibald, Superior, Jon Brew, Superior; step-sisters, Kathy and Wendy Quinn; step-brothers David and Jim Quinn; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets.

Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 23 from 6-8 p.m. and resume on Friday, Feb. 24 from 12 Noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th Street and Ogden Avenue. Rev. Charles Plaster, pastor of Concordia Lutheran Church, will officiate.

Pallbearers will be George, John, Ron and Paul Bunnell, Jeremy Brown, Darryel Brannen and Chris Kujava.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
