Lacey Joy Gayken, 28, of Superior, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at her residence after a long battle with Hutnington's Chorea disease.

Lacey Joy Gayken, 28, of Superior, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at her residence after a long battle with Hutnington's Chorea disease.

She was born in Duluth on Mar. 11, 1983, daughter of Debbra Bunnell and Kenneth Gayken.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and her animals.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth; maternal grandparents, Margaret and Chester Jahr; Step-grandfather, Daniel Smith; and aunts, Bonnie Thompson and Diane Bunnell.

Lacey is survived by her mother and stepfather, Debbie and Paul Bunnell of Lake Nebagamon; paternal grandmother, Betty Smith of Superior; sisters, Vanessa Jahr of Tennessee and Melinda "Mindy" and Missy Gayken of Superior; step brothers and sisters, Julie (Carl) Mattison of Superior, Paula (Rob) Cummings of Superior, Jana (Aaron) Charbonneau of Appleton, Wis., Leone Besaw of Kaukauna, Wis., Jerry (Brandie) Bunnell of Appleton, and Robert Kraft of Appleton; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday Feb. 17 from 5-7 p.m. and will resume on Saturday Feb. 18 from 10 a.m. until the 11a.m. funeral service in the Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th St. Superior. Rev. David Eaton, of Essentia-St. Mary's Hospice, will officiate. Interment will be in the Lake Nebagamon Cemetery in the spring.

Pallbearers will be, Dan, Mike and Fred Jahr, Darryel Brannen, Carl Mattison, and Walter Salomaki.

Debbie and Family I am so very sorry to see about Laceys passing I so remember when her Krsty and Tammy used to all play together. All my thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time. Shari Birch
