Nicholas Erving Doty, 23, of Superior passed away Jan. 26, 2012, in his home.

Nick was born Aug. 24, 1988, to Donald and Karlyn Doty in Ashland, Wis. He attended school in Superior until 2006 and worked at Simko until recently. He was an avid hockey player in the Superior youth league and enjoyed biking, skateboarding, and snowboarding. Hanging out and playing videos games with his three nephews, Andy, Ethan and Casey who adored their Uncle Nick was one of his favorite pastimes as well as theirs.

Nick is survived by his parents Don and Lisa Doty, and Karlyn Zifko; sisters Amanda Doty and Krissy (Eric) Stenson; brothers Sam Doty and Ben (Kate) Doty; grandparents Betty and Erving Doty, Linda Erickson and Raymond Zifko; nephews Andy Doty, Ethan Berg, and Casey Luzaich; nieces Claire Doty and Ellie and Erica Stenson; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as special friend Taya Beede.

Visitation is 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. service Wednesday, Feb. 1 at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth.

i didnt know nick well at all but met him a few times my friends n some of my family new him very well n he will be sadly missed...
