Robert "Buff" Lee Royse, 67, of Superior, passed away Jan. 24, 2012, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born in Gary, Ind. on July 3, 1944 to Franklin and Geneva Royse.
He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper from 1961-1965.
Bob was employed at Fraser Shipyard as a welder and most recently at the Holiday Center from which he retired in 2006. Bob was a jack-of-all-trades, always lending his talents to those that needed a hand; he was never idle for long. In addition, his latest hobby was restoring Harley-Davidson golf carts. He loved spending the summer at the camper at Birch Grove Resort in Iron River.
Bob is survived by his wife of 37 years, Karen; daughters Cindy (Jim Freese) Holm and Kim (Doug Shykes) Bleskan, Superior; son Pat Nord, Tucson, Ariz; grandchildren Jillian Holm, Chicago, Ill, Katy Ruhnke, Esko, Minn., and Cole Bleskan of Superior.
Bob's family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the wonderfully compassionate and supportive staff of St. Luke's Hospice. Our special thanks to Cheryl Brown who made Bob's last journey a peaceful transition.
Per Bob's wishes, no services will be held.
Arrangements entrusted to Cremation Society of Minnesota, (218) 624-5200.
