Helen L. Goligoski, 90, a lifelong Superior area resident, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Superior.

Helen L. Goligoski, 90, a lifelong Superior area resident, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Superior.

She was born in Superior on Aug. 7, 1921, the daughter of Anthony and Anna (Polacik) Topak.

She graduated from the former Superior Central High School in 1939.

Helen married Theodore J. Goligoski, June 9, 1951, and celebrated 25 years of marriage before his passing in 1976.

She is survived by one daughter, Debra A. (Allen Long) Goligoski, Denver, Colo.; one son, Richard M. (Susan) Goligoski, Riverside, Conn.; and two grandsons, Zachary and Nicholas; and a sister, Tillie Kucharyski.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother Paul Topak and sisters Mary Ivanich and Ann Jarzynski.

Visitation will begin with a Catholic Daughters of the Americas Rosary at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 18 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, Superior and continue until the noon, Mass of Christian burial with the Rev. William Murphy as celebrant.

Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Superior.

Pallbearers for the service will be William Goligoski, David Neuberger, Zachary and Richard Goligoski.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made in Helen's name to St. Mary's Essentia Health Hospice Unit, Duluth, Minn.

The Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Ave. Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.

Debbie & Dick, Sorry to hear about your mother. We were back for JoAnn's mother's burial in October. Aunt Tilly is the only one left of the Tapak girls. Our prayers and thought are with you. Clate & JoAnn Williams Gig Harbor, WA
