Robert J. Fudally, 74, lifelong Superior area resident died Friday, Jan. 6, 2012.

Robert J. Fudally, 74, lifelong Superior area resident died Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, in his home.

He was born in Superior on Sept. 2, 1937, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Mihalek) Fudally.

Robert was employed by First National Bank in Superior for more than 40 years, retiring as vice president of the bank.

He was a member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church, Superior, where he served on the church finance committee. Robert was also a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lake Nebagamon.

Bob was well loved by many friends and family and the M & I Bank crew, both past and present. He held several positions on committees and associations in the community.

Bob enjoyed carpentry, gardening, entertaining family and friends at his cabin and socialized at local bazaars, bake sales and church dinners.

He is survived by two brothers, Joseph (Karen) Fudally, Lake Nebagamon, and Jim Fudally, Superior; one sister, Margaret (Ken) Pfankuch, South Range; many nieces and nephews: and his faithful dog and friend, “Rosie.”

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Irene Fudally.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at Holy Assumption Catholic Church and continue until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial with the Rev. Ronald Olson as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service will be Mike, Steve and Brian Fudally, Paul Konkler, Paul Konkler Jr., Justin Fudally and Dan Stocker.

The family would prefer memorials to the Animal Rescue Federation or Holy Assumption Catholic Church.

Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

I worked with Bob for years and really enjoyed getting to know him. Great, great guy. So sorry he's no longer with us. He'll be missed. drs

So sorry to hear of his passing. He was a wonderful friend of my extended family and the best friend of my dad, Clifford Danielson. He too was in my parents' wedding in '65. I know Dad is happy to have his best friend with him again. Hope they are having a heck of a time up in heaven. Rest in peace Fud. You are missed!! Angela (Danielson) Tyrrell, Waukee, IA
