Angela T. Collins, 100, lifelong Superior resident died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011.

Angela T. Collins, 100, lifelong Superior resident died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at the Golden Living Center, Superior.

She was born July 7, 1911, in Delano, Minn., to Paul and Catherine (Lyrek) Stralka.

Angela worked at the Palace Theater and St. Mary’s Hospital in Superior for many years. She was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church and its Altar Society. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 1190 and a former member of the ABC quilters. She volunteered at the former St. Stanislaus Church and Cathedral of Christ the King Church for many years.

Angela loved playing cards, quilting, embroidery and crocheting. She also was a very good cook.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane Lucas, Amery, Wis., and Barbara (Joe) Homich, Superior, Wis.; a son, Ronald (Sandy) Collins, Hugo, Minn.; five grandchildren, Jeff, Troy, Kim, Brian and Jennifer; four great-grandchildren, Ben, Nate, Tyler and Carter; and many nieces and nephews.

Angela is preceded in death by her husband Frank; her parents; brothers, Edward, Paul and Conrad Stralka; and sisters, Ann Sitek and Clara Magneson.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at Holy Assumption Catholic Church and continue until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial with the Rev. Ronald Olson and Rev. Daniel Dahlberg, concelebrants.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.

Pallbearers for the service will be Joel Thurston, Jeff Constance, Brian Collins, Troy Constance, Joe Homich and Ron Collins.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Golden Living Center for the care and compassion they had given to Angela.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made in Angela’s name to Cathedral School.

Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Ave., Superior, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Barb - sorry to hear of your mom passing. I know how well you took care of her. You sure resemble her and that was a very nice picture in the paper. Sorry we won't be able to attend the funeral but our thoughts are with you. Joyce Littler
