Valerie Jo McGill (nee Jambor), age 63, loving wife, mother, grandma and friend, returned to the Lord she had so faithfully served her entire life after a valiant struggle with cancer.

Valerie Jo McGill (nee Jambor), age 63, loving wife, mother, grandma and friend, returned to the Lord she had so faithfully served her entire life after a valiant struggle with cancer.

Val was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Lyle Jambor.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 41 years, Patrick (formerly of Superior); children, Kevin (Sheila), Shannon Norris (Matthew), Noreen Kolb (Dale), Darren, Katelyn and Brian; and special friend, Katelyn Parker. She is also survived by grandchildren, Devin, Grace, Aidan, Colin and Margaret McGill, Michael and Anthony Norris, Joseph, Clare and Isaac Kolb; sister, Leila Rae Krenik (Tom); and many other relatives and friends.

Val was a 1966 graduate of Our Lady of Peace High School and a 1970 graduate of the College of St. Catherine where she received a degree in occupational therapy. She enjoyed cross stitching, quilting and Polish paper cutting. Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. at O’Halloran & Murphy, 575 S. Snelling Ave. Visitation will continue Tuesday, Sept 20 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church (Stanford at Prior Avenue). Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Nativity of Our Lord School. Arrangements by O’Halloran & Murphy, (651) 698-0796.

Patrick, I'm so sorry on the loss of your wife. I don't know if you remember me or not, but we went all the way through grade school together, at Cathedral. After 8th. grade I don't think I ever seen you again, but special people remain in your mind forever. I offer my deepest condolences on your lost. Bob Marlowe, Westminster Co. Email meatking1@q.com
