Inez Podlewski, 94, of Iron River died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011.
Inez Podlewski, 94, of Iron River died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, in the Ashland Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Nov. 16, 1916, in Iron River, to Charles and Marie (Obb) Jacobson.
Inez married Ted Podlewski in Iron River, and they lived in the Delta area for many years.
Inez received her licensed practical nursing certification from WITI and was employed as a nurse at Ashland Medical Center. She also spent many years as Fr. Canfield’s housekeeper.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Iron River. She was an avid reader of early European history and she enjoyed craftwork and doing Will Short crossword puzzles.
Inez is survived by one daughter, Gail (Harvey) Anderson, Superior; five grandchildren, Tim (Jan) Anderson, Superior, Dawn (Rick) Karlon, Superior, Paula Anderson, Minneapolis, Minn., Dave Anderson, Superior, Derek Anderson, Galveston, Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Mandy (Luke Thompson) Anderson, Katy Anderson, Tate (Seth) Lithgrow, Bryce Karlon, Leah Karlon, Jeffrey Koenen, Neal (Cheryl) Anderson, Aeris Buss; one great great-grandson, Dylan Anderson; and special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; her parents; four sisters, Jeanette Chantelois, Hilda Forsythe, Edna and Annie Jacobson; and one brother, Leander Jacobson.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday Sept. 15 at St. Michael Catholic Church with Deacon John Grek, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Iron River.
Inez’s grandchildren will be recognized as pallbearers.
Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
