Darlene Phillips, 63, of Solon Springs died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, in Essentia Health Medical Center, Duluth.
Darlene Phillips, 63, of Solon Springs died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, in Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth.
She was born July 25, 1948, in Superior to Oliver J. and Geraldine (Tappen) Phillips.
She was employed in the packaging department at Link Brothers Meat Company in Minong.
Darlene loved working in her garden with her son; she enjoyed going on walks, loved spending time with her grandchildren and was a true Elvis fan.
She is survived by one daughter, Cindy (Doug) Hanson, Bennett; one son, Carl Hartshorn, Solon Springs; five grandchildren, Sadie, Mariah, Carl, Paige and Dalton; three sisters, Debra (Michael) Rusboldt, Manitowoc, Wis., Barbara Wickstrom, Solon Springs, Bonnie (Danny) Gordon, Gordon, Wis.; one brother, Donald Phillips, Manitowoc; many nieces and nephews and a special cousin, Marlene (Jim) Neumeister, Rockford, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jacqueline Phillips.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Wednesday, Aug. 10 in Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.
Following the committal service at the cemetery, family and friends are invited to a luncheon at Gordon’s Moose River Bar on County Highway M and East Mail Road in Gordon.
