Yvonne J. Day

Yvonne J. Day, 82, Superior, died Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on April 27, 1929, in Milwaukee, Wis. to Neil and Ruth (Strauman) Johnson.

She enjoyed cooking, especially for her family, painting saws, going to rummage sales, flea markets and bargain hunting. She and her husband, Irving enjoyed 62 years of marriage before he passed away in 2008.

Yvonne is survived by two sons, Jeff Day, Superior, Allan (Sandy) Day, North Dakota; 11 grandchildren Shane Sweeny, Rainae (Ross) O’Leary, Neil Day, Deanna (Chris Darnell) Day, Amber (Ryan) Scott, Alannah Meyers, Alesia (Jacob) Ostman, Hollie (Adam) Witte, Aaron Day, Vanessa (Jay) Kawly and Dahlia Day; 16 great-grandchildren and her best friend, Ethel Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her husband Irving; one son, Irving; one grandson, Nathanial; her parents, Neil and Ruth Johnson and two sisters, Marge Nelson and Kay Johnson.

Per Yvonne’s request, no public services will be held.

Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
