Georgia Faye Flood, 72, of Superior, died Sunday, May 8, 2011, at St. Luke’s Hospice, Duluth.

Georgia Faye Flood, 72, of Superior, died Sunday, May 8, 2011, at St. Luke’s Hospice, Duluth.

She was born Oct. 6, 1938, in Newton, N. C., daughter of Roy and Molly (Spencer) Hedrick.

On March 20, 1964, in Wrenshall, Minn., Georgia Hedrick and Erick Flood were united in marriage.

Georgia worked more than 40 years as a waitress for various Superior restaurants and later worked as a clerk at Superior Shooters Supply.

Some of her memberships included the Hawthorne Trap Club, Superior Trap Club, Big Lake Trap Club, Superior Ladies Ducks Unlimited Chapter and a life member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association. Moreover, her trapshooting excellence included several 100 straight scores.

In addition to trapshooting, Georgia enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Triple Crown horse races.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors include her husband of over 47 years, Erick Flood, Sr., Superior; daughter, Linda (Richard) Rossi, Oakdale, Minn.; sons, Erick “Ernie” Flood, Jr., Superior and Edward (Teresa) Flood, Bennett; grandson, Kellen Tyler Flood, Phoenix, Ariz.; and brother-in-law, William Flood, Cumberland, Wis.

Visitation will be from 2 until the 3 p.m. service Thursday, May 12, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th St., Superior, with Rev. Mark A. Holmes officiating.

Following the service, everyone is invited to The Kitchen, 803 N. Fifth St., Superior, for a luncheon.
