Jesse David Sather passed away Friday, April 29, 2011, at St. Mary’s Hospice, surrounded by family after a courageous fight with colon cancer.

Jesse was born March 27, 1978, in Duluth, to David and LouAnne Sather. He grew up in Proctor and graduated from Proctor High School in 1996. Jesse married Kelly Thompson-Sather in 2004 in Superior, where they made a home for themselves. In 2008, they were blessed with a son, Dominic. Jesse worked as a lead technician for Charter Communications, a company he had been with for 12 years and a place where he called many co-workers close friends.

Jesse was the type of man who instantly won the admiration of everyone he met. He was kind, loving, outgoing and generous. He continued his generosity by donating his eyes.

Jesse loved his friends and family very much and would do anything for any one of them. He enjoyed sports, hunting and fishing, four-wheeling, and just being a dad.

Jesse life will go on in his family: wife, Kelly Thompson-Sather; son, Dominic; sisters April, Amber (Seth) Marsolek, Alicia (Mike) Brunette, Anna, Abby and Autumn; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

A memorial service and celebration of Jesse’s life is planned for noon Saturday, May 7 at Spirit Mountain Recreation Area, 9500 Spirit Mountain Place, Duluth. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Cremation Society of Minnesota.
