Florence E. Lizotte, 97, of West Pine Street, Washburn, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010.

Florence E. Lizotte, 97, of West Pine Street, Washburn, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center, Ashland, with her three loving daughters by her side.

She was born Nov. 30, 1912, the daughter of Frank and Sarah Glenski. She grew up in Ashland and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Ashland. On Oct. 21, 1939, she married Henry “Tuffy” Lizotte, and they raised five children. Florence was a very active member of St. Louis Catholic Church and the St. Ann’s Society in Washburn. She was a homemaker and the best mom you could ever ask for. She was most proud of her children, grandchildren, great-granddaughters and was looking forward to meeting her new great-grandchild due in November. Her constant companion over the last five years was her little dog, Mini, who she loved dearly.

She is survived by her son, Jim (Joanne) Lizotte, Missoula, Mont.; three daughters, Janet Shefchik, Washburn, Mary Ann (Tom) Sarver, Washburn and Barb (Dave) Eibon, Superior; eight grandchildren, Jamie Shefchik, Morgan City, La., Jennifer (Travis) Nye, Ashland, Randy Sarver, Madison, Casey (Katie) Sarver, Inver Grove Heights, Minn., Katie (Jason) Kaveney, Eau Claire, Ben Omberg, Minneapolis, Jodi Lizotte, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Jeremy Lizotte, Missoula; three great-granddaughters, Lilly and Emily Nye and Ava Kaveney; several nieces and a special niece Sharon Bradle, Ashland; and a very special friend, Debbie Compton, Ashland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry, in 1983; a daughter, Kathleen, in 1958; and six brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at St. Louis Catholic Church, in Washburn, with Father Aaron Kalmon officiating.

Interment will take place in the Calvary Cemetery in Washburn.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church, in Washburn.
