Rose Ann Vogt passed away peacefully at her Hudson home on Aug. 31, 2010, at age 63
Rose Ann Vogt, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully at her Hudson home on Aug. 31, 2010, at age 63. She had courageously fought lung cancer for the past year.
She was born the daughter of Alex and June (Mann) Orlowski on July 19, 1947, in Portland, Maine. Rose graduated from Northwestern High School in Maple. On Sept. 24, 1966, she was united in marriage to Robert J. Vogt in Superior.
They were blessed with three children, Tammy, Jason and Melissa. Rose worked as a dental assistant and then as a secretary. For 13 years, she worked for the Hudson School District coordinating substitute teachers. She liked to work in her flower gardens, watch and feed the birds, swimming in her pool, going shopping and to the casino, listening to Neil Diamond and cheering for the Packers. Above all, Rose loved being with her children, grandchildren and dog, DJ.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Rose is survived by her husband of almost 44 years, Robert; three children: Tammy (Jim) Traeger of Hudson, Wis., Jason (Heidi) Vogt of Menomonie, Wis., and Melissa (Ryan) Nord of Maple Grove Minn.; four grandchildren: Tyler and Andrew Traeger, Avery and Lexie Nord; parents, Alex and June Orlowski of Superior; nine sisters, one brother, and their families.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Rose at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept 4 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Hudson. Visitations will be one hour prior to Mass at church and 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3 at the O’Connell Funeral Home, Hudson, (715) 386-3725, www.oconnellfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to www.caringridge.org or to Lakeview Hospice.
