Roseline Helen Erickson, 77, of South Range passed away Wednesday March 10, 2010, at the Sovay Hospice House in Duluth, surrounded by her family. Rosie was born Aug. 5, 1932, in Lampson, Wis., to the late Author and Emma (Schubert) Rhodes.

Roseline Helen Erickson, 77, of South Range passed away Wednesday March 10, 2010, at the Sovay Hospice House in Duluth, surrounded by her family.

Rosie was born Aug. 5, 1932, in Lampson, Wis., to the late Author and Emma (Schubert) Rhodes.

“Rosie” lived and worked in the South Range area most of her life. She worked at the Middle River Health Facility in the laundry department. Rosie knew many people locally and will miss all of them. Rosie had many talents and loved sharing them with her family and friends. She was a gardener, jewelry maker, bird watcher, and dog lover. “Patches,” her dog, was her best companion and loving friend. Many people that knew Rosie could feel that she had the biggest heart of all. She was a full of love and she made sure that you felt it when you were around her. Her pride and joy was her loving family that will miss her more than she will ever know.

Among those who survive and gratefully shared her life are her children Mike Erickson of Hager City, Wis., Doreen (Fred) Swanson of Poplar, Victoria (Orville) Stuart of Coden, Ala., Rose Ann (Larry) Dudley of Littleton, Colo., and Alice (Dean) Metcalf of Frankfort, Ill.; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four brothers, Bill Rhodes of Solon Springs, Edward (Loretta) Rhodes of Chewelah, Wis., Gene (Pauline) Rhodes of Superior, and Ken (Kathy) Rhodes of Hibbing, Minn.; and one sister Dorothy (AJ “Bud”) Rydberg of Solon Springs.

Memorials may be directed to the Sovay Hospice House www.millerdwanfoundation.org in Rosie’s name.

A celebration of Rosie’s life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 12 at the Brown Funeral Home in Solon Springs. Fr. Urban will officiate. Friends and family will be gathering from 9:30 until the time of services. Burial will be in the St. Pius X Catholic Cemetery in Solon Springs.

I only knew Rosie for a short time but she became very special to me. I enjoyed her hugs very much. It was great to see her surrounded and supported by her wonderful family and neighbor Jim. She was a lucky lady. Mike McDonnell Will there be a memorial service?
