Jerome Prochnow, 66, of Superior died Friday, April 10, 2009 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.
He was born on Aug. 22, 1942, in Manitowoc, Wis.
He served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed as a seaman for U.S. Steel Company.
Jerome loved hunting, fishing, playing guitar, watching sports and going to the casino. He also loved playing cribbage and chess, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by three sons, Michael Prochnow, Superior, Robert Prochnow, Duluth, and Douglas (Tammy) Prochnow, Superior; two stepdaughters, Debbie Hawpetoss, Superior and Brenda Hawpetoss, Manitowoc; one stepson, Darrin Hawpetoss, Duluth; three brothers, Raymond (Jayne) Karlin, California, Allen (Paulette) Karlin, Manitowoc, and Randy Karlin, Green Bay, Wis.; five grandchildren, Alexa, Reed, Eddie, Sophie and Katelyn and several stepgrandchildren.
Visitation will begin at noon Monday, April 13, 2009 in the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Ave. and will continue until the 1 p.m. memorial service with Pastor Patrick Ziems of Zion Lutheran Church officiating.
