Henry Buffalo

Henry Buffalo is the great-great-great-grandson of Chief Buffalo. He explained the significance of the pipe that his ancestor smoked with President Fillmore in 1852. Henry Buffalo is in possession of the pipe, which now belongs to the Red Cliff band. Chief Buffalo was a member of the LaPoint Band, which lived on Madeline Island. Members of Red Cliff are descendants of the LaPoint band. Henry Buffalo is an attorney living in St. Paul. (Photo by Ivy Vainio)
