Duluth Mayor Don Ness and his wife, Laura, and Norway’s King Harald and Queen Sonja
Two Harbors native and opera singer Andrew Gangestad, far left on platform, greets Duluth Mayor Don Ness and his wife, Laura, and Norway’s King Harald and Queen Sonja Monday afternoon. Earlier, Gangestad performed two pieces at a dinner for the royal couple, one of them by Norwegian composer and pianist Edvard Grieg. The king and queen were also presented with an icy-looking glass replica of Enger Tower by Michael Tonder of Two Harbors. Ralph Jacobson, president of the Two Harbors Sons of Norway lodge, escorted the king and queen into the DECC luncheon. He is third from the right on the platform at Enger Tower.
