Halloween

Librarians Carol Hoeschen, left, and Nora Fie beckon children to the Superior Public Library for their annual trick-or-treat event, “Famous Witches & Wizards,” which takes place from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. Oct. 26 at the library, 1530 Tower Ave. Kids can expect to see Hoeschen’s Maleficent, Harry Potter and other famous spell-casters, and get some sweet treats. While the event is free, participants are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for the local food shelf. (Maria Lockwood)
