Chris Duke, owner of Great Oak Farm near Mason, Wis., explains specifics on the operation of his family’s sustainable farm to new freshmen and transfer students taking part in the “Northland Connect” Outdoor Orientation trip. Great Oak is a founding member of Pasture Perfect Poultry, raising roughly 700 egg layers and several hundred meat birds without pesticides, hormones or antibiotics.
