Why do so many good, good people have to leave us so early. At least your teachings will live on. Dave I love you so much. I am so glad I got to spend the Packer Viking game with you at your place last week, to be able to see you one last time. You have been like a father to me in so many ways. I always liked to call you my AA Dad because in many ways you were a father figure to me, always some to look up to and and aspire to be like. I want to have that level of spirituality, serenity, and contentment some day. You are truly a hero to me. What you did for the AA community in the area can never be measured, ever. You were always willing to help one more hopeless drunk. You had so many gifts that will be missed, but will live on in our memories. Some of them were your excellent use of metaphores so I could understand things more easily, your sense of humor, your brutal honesty, how you always meant what you said, your willingness to share your life experiences with me and openness to cry, your incredible insight. I love you so much and I hope I can make you proud of me again. I have no idea what happens when we go, but I hope your with your Mattie now eating steaks and talking about football, maybe playing poker. And of course I hope Harry is up there with you giving you shit about who knows what.
