Jim Cleary I was very fortunate to have renewed my contact with Phyllis later in life. She was a joy. She claimed to have been named after my father but, due to her smile, I was never sure I should believe her. Best wishes to Kathleen and all the family.

On a number of occasions, our parents would hire Phyllis as our babysitter. The first time she came over, I wasn't so sure I'd like her because she was new. But I soon discovered that my concern was misplaced because she was much more fun to be around than I thought. Pat, Ann and I soon eagerly anticipated her visits because we thought there were no limits as to what we could do without being disciplined. But Phyllis one-upped us by keeping us so preoccupied with the fun she chose that we didn't have time to get into trouble. She was always a high-energy, positive and quick-witted person who thrived in humorous situations and could even find the silver lining in the darkest cloud. In later years, when the Clearys would meet for a funeral, she could always find a story about the person that was hilarious. There were no grim or somber moments with her around.
