My condolences to the Thompson famiy. Mr. Thompson was one of my favorite teachers. He had an off beat way of teaching and I always appreciated the fact that teachin and learning was happening even when we didn't know it. I will miss him too. Don Kruger

As I sit at my own desk in my own classroom, it is easy for me to remember a man who was partially responsible for me going in to the teaching profession. He was a great teacher who made every student feel as if they were truly cared for. His passion for the outdoors made his Environmental Education classes real, and his passion came through in his teachings. I graduated from SSHS in 1980, and I remember his class as though it was last year. That shows just how much of an impact he had on his students. My sympathy to the Thompson family. he was a great teacher and even a better man.

He was my favorite teacher. Class of 1976. He made biology fun and he was so much more than a teacher. He became your friend and cared about you if you had a problem outside of school. You were one of a kind and I was so blessed to have had you as an instructor. My deepest sympathy to the Thompson family. Kathy Buchanan

Mr. Thompson was my homeroom treacher and boy did we have fun in homeroom. I still tell my kids about him bringing in an albieno beaver into class one morning and the Northern Pike he opened up before class to find a walleye inside. He was a great teacher, great man and loved his Celica Supra. RIP Teach. Brian Martin
