Spartan boys can't buy a basket
The Superior High School boys basketball team got off to a surprising start as it open its season by hosting the undefeated Eau Claire North Huskies Friday night. “I’m sure everybody that was here saw the same thing we saw: two good teams playing, and one couldn’t buy a basket in the second half,” SHS head coach Dave Kontny said. “If you would have told me this team (Superior) would shoot 9-for-32 in the second half, I would have said no way.” The Spartans’ second-half shooting trouble cost them the game, as the Huskies remained undefeated with a 63-52 victory.By: Emily Kram, The Daily Telegram
