BTW, I graduated HS with James H., and I know he has no children. For that we should all be thankful.

I get a kick out of the trolls who post on this site and manage to drag politics into every subject. These morons can't even stay on track.

James H- you are a real jerk. No I NEVER let my son run wild! I did everything in my power to teach him right from wrong, he was very rebellious, he did turn his life around and quit getting into trouble, but those days were awful, and I don't want to be grouped with parents that don't care about their kids.

You are all right what is being said. This all started when the government stepped in an took the right away from the parents. When you can’t discipline a child when they are doing something wrong. I always said the hand had a curve in it to fit on the butt, I don’t condone hitting a child with a fist at all a good spanking on the but will make them understand .I grew up in a different time you respected adults when you talked to them it was Mr. or Mrs. they don’t any more there was always a mom or dad at home when you were done with school. Now a days what have you got both parents having to work to survive, not like years ago. Now what do they do with the children? They are in daycares or at home all alone. So in a nut shell the government tells you how to raise a child while the jobs go to another country an the child is home alone raising themselves. Just think about the two things that are lost the elderly an the children everyone in-between have to fend for themselves Just my thoughts

Hitting a little too close to home Jen? Are you one of them parents that let their kids run rough shod over them and let them do what ever they want "Just because they will do it anyway"? And then if you do any punishment it is "Time Out" which is the biggest failure in child rearing there ever has been. No Jen these folks who are blaming the parents are on the right track. Other problems are both parents working so kids have too much time on their hands and the liberals who have taken away the parents right to raise their kids as they see fit along with the school systems failure to discipline because if kids do not get it at home or at school they do not get it at all and kids need discipline.

Why is that you people always blame the parents? Kids will do what they want to do, regardless of what parents do or say. You must have perfect children who have never disobeyed you. Otherwise, you have no idea what you are talking about!!!

I have to agree with Robert 10 commandments should and I say should be the laws of the land. I don't think the school should be blamed for these actions. It is the parents that are to blame here.

I agree with Pat R. What kind of parents do these kids have? My child goes to that school. These kinds of incidents really make me mad. People say not me, not my kid. Parents need to start paying attention to what their kids are doing and saying, and who they are hanging out with. I am a single parent, and I know it is hard--but you have to keep your eye your children. Mary D. Superior, WI

Kids figure they can get by with all sorts of crap today because there is no discipline anywhere. Back when I was young the teachers could discipline with a paddle if need be and when you got home your parents most likely would give you the same. Now with the Liberals saying you cannot discipline your kids or you will get in trouble and the kids know it it has gone down hill. Think about this back in the old days you never heard of a school shooting like you do today. Spare the Rod and Spoil the Child is relevant here. There is a big difference between disciplining a child and child abuse. Robert G is on the right track with his comments Liberals have destroyed the schools and are destroying society and yes that includes OBAMA.

God had nothing to do with this. It is the student, the parents, and probably something to do with the local economic conditions in this impoverished area. Middle School teachers have a lot of responsibility and raising our kids shoulds not have to be one of them. We all need to get back the basics of common civility; the Three R's of REASON, RESPONSIBILITY, and RESPECT. You cannot teach or model that exclusively at school; it needs to be in the home and in the community. Be thankful no one was physically injured and the system appears to be working.
