To add to the discussion, maybe we should not focus on the why but that this young couple is hard working and deserving. What separates them from the rest - applying for it and being able to afford it afterwards! A newer, better home isn't necessarily free and clear! It costs money to be able to maintain and live - it is possible that those who make the 'big' decision factor in some of these things. It seems that someone unemployed or who has succumbed to the economy may not be able to maintain it financially. Not that anyone would NOT want to help that person. But, this show is not about that it is about a deserving family who applied and who can demonstrate to the show that they can maintain after all the volunteers and workers go home. I say let's be happy! Congrats!

Congratulation to the huber family!!! What a wonderful thing to happen to our community. We are usually left out of the lime light. And I do trust, the people that chose them to have this wonderful gift and The plan for them. Nothing happens in this world by mistake whether we agree to it or not. what I do know is that peoples spirits across the Twin Ports have risen and given hope to a lot of people, not only the Hubers but others as well. It is going to be a blast to watch it all unfold.

I personally voted on the corbin lee project and I thought they deserved to be the family chosen. I thought the way they said if they were not the family chosen that they would be happy for the one that was and wanted to help the deserving family by donating time and helping. But now that they were not chosen all that has changed and they don't have the time to help. So I guess there is a reason why things happen the way they do and how they turn out. I knew of Jessica at school we were not friends but she always came off as a person who would be willing to do anything to help another person in need. The last person she thought of was herself and maybe that is what she learned from her life experiences. People shouldn't judge other people when you don't know each families road that they have had to take. Be happy for the one that gets picked. Congratulations Huber Family!

I am happy to finally see something good happen for a family that is trying to better themselves without any government assistance! These people are working, going to school, raising children and helping the community. I hope you enjoy your new home & you continue to "pay it forward".

I am originally from Superior (East End) and now live near Eau Claire. I keep up with happenings from home. Superior will always be home. I am SO happy for the Huber Family to be having help. I don't know them, but I am sure they deserve the help with the house. Firefighters risk their lives and are very caring. They help out not only their family, but also total strangers. It is who they are and what they do. Way to go Huber family. Congrats. Have an awesome time on your trip. Can't wait to see how it all goes. Blessings.

I live in Tx. now, but my "Home" will always be Superior! I am so excited that the Huber family has been chosen. I don't know anything about them, but I am sure they deserve this. Who cares why they chose them, just be happy for them!! This is a wonderful thing, and its great that it happened in the Northland! Huber family, I hope all your dreams come true!!! Enjoy your new home!

I agree with Grace 10000000%. Very well said Grace. It's nice to know someone can think out the ultra liberal box that has ruined your area.

This man risks his life everyday to keep the community safe. They deserve it, now get over it people and find some brightness in your day today. Focus on the positive. Much easier.

I agree with Gregg T. Like I've written in before... What is it with all this negativity?? Don't we have anything better to do? Are you negative folks all envious of the lottery winnter who claims the powerball and makes a good living? Get on with your lives and let them live theirs. I'm sure the Hubers deserved to be chosen. I'm sure a whole bunch of other folks deserved to be chosen ... but weren't. How do you handle being passed up on a promotion at work? Deal with it.
