Superior police are seeking the public’s to identify two men who allegedly robbed a taxi cab driver in Superior on Sunday night.
At about 9:10 p.m. Sunday, Superior police officers responded to a report of an armed robbery on North Sixth Street between Cumming and Baxter Avenue, according to a news release issued by Deputy Chief Nick Alexander. A driver for Badger Taxi reported he was robbed. The driver told police he responded to pick up a fare in Duluth near 30 E. Second St. When he arrived at that location two males were standing outside the residence waiting and they requested they be driven to an area near the Hammond Spur in Superior.
The taxi cab driver drove to Superior and the two males directed him to turn on North Sixth Street from Hammond Avenue.
At about Cumming, Avenue the males asked the cab driver to pull over and let them out. The cab driver pulled to the side of the road and was grabbed immediately from behind, around the neck. The two males demanded his money and ordered him to empty his pockets. The two males then exited the cab and fled on foot.
The driver identified both suspects as being black males in their 20s. Both suspects were believed to be about 6-feet tall and with a slim build. One suspect was described as wearing a dark colored hooded shirt and jeans.
