Duluth: The Journey Coffee House offers open mike night and features artists Luke Krhin and Jim King at 6:30 p.m. at 9302 W. Skyline Parkway.
Solon Springs: Various Wisconsin churches invite everyone to hear Bruce VanNatta, author of “Saved by Angels” and “A Miraculous Life.” Hear his life and death testimony. The event begins at 7 p.m. today, Saturday and Sunday at the Solon Springs Community Center, Business Highway 53. Free will offering accepted.
Superior: The annual BID Pumpkin Patch event runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Center City Park, corner of Belknap Street and Tower Avenue. The first 200 children receive a free pumpkin, pumpkin decorating kit and color-it-yourself Halloween bag. Each child in a costume gets an extra treat bag. Families can enjoy a fall photo area to take family pictures.
Duluth: The Twin Ports Genealogical Society and Duluth Public Library present a Family History Jamboree from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Duluth Public Library’s Green Room, 520 W. Superior St. Free.
Superior: The Black River Bandits meet for Cowboy Fast Draw practice at 1 p.m. at the Head of the Lakes Fairground in the 4-H building. Anyone interested is welcome. The first shoot is free. Parents need to be present for shooters age 17 or younger. Go to www.blackriverbandits.org.

Fourth St., hosts a Harry Potter-themed Halloween party 5:30-8 p.m. Explore Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade and the Hogwarts Castle, and enjoy a myriad of activities and games ranging from silly to scientific. Superior: Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and Captain Hook are handing out candy during the Superior Public Library’s annual Trick or Treat event. The trip to Neverland is free, but little trick-or-treaters are asked to bring nonperishable food for the local food shelf. The event runs 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m.
Duluth: Fall Festival runs 6-8 p.m. for youth birth through sixth grade at Duluth Gospel Tabernacle. There will be a carnival, candy, crafts, food and prizes, plus a nonviolent costume contest for kids and adults. Free.
