The Northwestern High School volleyball team wrapped up play in the Heart O’ North Conference tournament by winning two matches and losing one Thursday night at Cumberland.
The Tigers defeated Cumberland 2-1 925-17, 17-25, 15-12) and Spooner 2-1 (22-25, 25-23, 15-10) and lost to Hayward 2-0 (25-22, 25-20).
The Tigers went 1-3 on the opening day of the two-day tournament on Oct. 12 in the NSH gym.
Northwestern was led Tuesday night by Lexi Janigo and Cheyenne Johnson, 16 kills apiece; Erin Gotelaere, 12 kills and 25 digs; Daisy Mack, 34 set assists; and Hailey Eller, 17 service aces.
The Tigers, who ended up with a 5-9 record in the HON Conference, were given the No. 5 seed for the upcoming WIAA Division 2 volleyball playoffs and will play at No. 4 Hayward at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
