The management group that ran the Head of the Lakes fairgrounds for the last three years could run it again for the next three years.
Douglas County’s Land and Development Committee received one proposal to manage the fairgrounds from the Head of the Lakes Management Group.
There are a couple of issues to work out, said Committee Chairman Keith Allen. He said the county administrator, Andy Lisak, will negotiate an agreement. If an agreement can be reach, it will be presented to the Land and Development Committee for consideration, he said.
Under the proposal received, the Head of the Lakes Management Group will try to plan the annual fair, dependent on the availability of a carnival and plans for developing a manufacturing plant on the site by Kestrel Aircraft Co. If a traditional fair cannot be held, the group plans to work with 4-H to develop a 4-H Fair.
The group would also manage storage on the grounds, the multi-purpose building and the speedway.
