The search for a Madison man who fell out of a boat and disappeared under the water of Lake Namekagon was set to resume this morning.
At 3:30 p.m. Friday, the Bayfield County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a drowning in Lake Namakagon in the Town of Namekagon in southern Bayfield County, according to a release from the Bayfield County Sheriff's Office. It was reported that a 69-year-old man from the Madison area fell out of his boat, his fishing partner tried to help him but he disappeared under the water.
Besides deputies from the sheriff office the following agencies also responded, The Namekagon Fire Department, Great Divide Ambulance Service, Sawyer County Dive team. Life Link III helicopter and the Wisconsin DNR. The search was called off for the night because of darkness and was slated to resume this morning.
