Carl H. "Cully" Ward, 62, Superior resident, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born on Nov. 3, 1950 in Superior to Harry and Doris (Rohrer) Ward.
Cully served his country with the 101st Airborne in the United State Army serving two terms during the Vietnam War era. He was proud to serve his country.
He was employed as the Shipping Foreman for Mielke Electric for many years retiring this past July.
Cully was a member of the V.F.W. of Superior. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and camping and fishing.
He is survived by his best friend and mother of this children, Mary Lynda (Sheahan) Ward, Superior; two daughters, Rachael (Ted Jones) Buss, Madison, Wis. and Amy (Paul) Tomczak, Bloomer, Wis.; one son, Jerry Bartlett, Duluth; nine grandchildren, Cassie, Cody, Trevor, Megan, Chelsea, Dylan, Lexie, Paige and Marcus; one sister, Cathy Behlke, Oliver; two brothers, Ron (Margitta) Ward, Gordon and Tim (Karin) Ward, Junction City, Kan. and several nieces and nephews.
Cully is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Mike Ward.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 in the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior and continue until the 12 Noon memorial service with Rev. Andrew Ricci of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post No. 435 Honor Guard.
