Teacher gets personal finance training for students
Jody Forsythe, a teacher at Northwestern High School in Iron River, attended the National Institute of Financial and Economic Literacy training July 29-31 at Edgewood College in Madison.
The training focused on equipping educators with tools they need to teach students about consumerism, budgeting in the real world, credit education, money and inflation.
Forsythe was sponsored by the School District of Maple.
DFI and its Office of Financial Literacy coordinate the annual NIFEL training with Edgewood College. The NIFEL training is now in its 13th year and has provided personal financial education training for nearly 800 educators.
