Kylie Nordness, daughter of Mark and Angela (Lanhart) Nordness, formerly of Superior, was named captain of the DePaul Blue Demons women’s soccer team.
Nordness has been a three-year starter on defense with the Blue Demons and was recently selected for the 2013 Women’s Soccer Preseason All-Big East Team (as defender). In 2012 she named to the All Big East women’s soccer third team.
Nordness is from Menomonee Falls and attended high school at Divine Savior Holy Angels, where she led her team to back-to-back Wisconsin state soccer championships in 2008 and 2009 and was selected as the Greater Metro Conference Player of the Year in 2009.
Nordness scored 35 goals and had five assists in two seasons at Divine Savior, was selected for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Region team and the Wisconsin all-state girls soccer team in 2008, 2009 and 2010. She was also all-state in cross country in 2006.
NOTES: Kylie Nordness is the granddaughter of Robert and Carole Nordness of Superior, and Richard and Dianne Lanhart of Barnes. … She has six siblings, Matthew, Michael, Noah, Maria, Jack and Nicole and is majoring in biological sciences. … DePaul (1-2) plays at Ohio today and hosts the College of Charleston on Sunday. … Nordness is also a two-time member of the Big East All-Academic Team.
