The Superior City Council is hoping to fill a vacancy.
Residents of the 10th District interested in serving their community are asked to share their interest with the council for consideration to fill the vacancy created by Councilor Bob Browne’s death Aug. 1.
Councilor Warren Bender said he considered leaving the seat open until an election could be held in April, but believes the district would be without representation too long. He made a motion to appoint a member to serve until April when a special election to fill the seat can be held.
Anyone interested in serving in the 10th District council seat should submit a letter of interest and resume to the Mayor’s Office, 1316 N. 14th St., Superior, WI 54880, no later than Sept. 6.
The council will consider candidates to fill the post during the Sept. 17 regular council meeting.
