The life of Joe Sandor, 35, of Chicago, Ill., will be celebrated in private memorial services with friends and family the weekend of Aug. 24 along the shores of Lake Superior.
He was born on May 8, 1978 in Duluth. He attended school at Pattison, Four Corners and graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1997 and UW-Madison in 2002 after studying French at the Sorbonne in Paris. Joe also studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and was a gifted artist and sculptor.
He was a contributing writer for "Maker Magazine" and was proud of his part in a recent Sears Craftsman commercial "Made to Make".
Joe's life was full of love, laughter, and adventure. His creativity was admirable, his humor contagious. He had a large extended family and throughout his life maintained close and loving connections with grandparents, aunts and uncles, and his many cousins.
He leaves behind his wife, his little red-haired girl Joy Kubarek-Sandor, Chicago, Ill., and his immediate family, brother Alex (Katie) Sandor, Superior, his parents Timothy and Adeline Sandor, Superior, as well as two nieces and two nephews who will always remember their fun-loving Uncle Joe.
Joe was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Theresa and Anthony Sandor; John and Marie Kolbeg; his aunts, Jo Anne Sandor, Susan Pratt and his uncle, Roger Kolberg.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and will continue until the 2 p.m. Memorial Mass on Sunday, Aug. 25 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci, as celebrant.
If you would like to honor Joe's memory, you may donate to the non-euthanizing Treehouse Humane Society in Chicago where he adopted one of his dearest companions, his cat Louis XIV. Joe's two cats brought him countless hours of laughter and comfort and he would only hope others could experience the same.
Should friends desire memorials may be made in Joe's name by mail to Tree House Humane Society, Attn. Jackie Such, 1212 W. Carmen Ave., Chicago, IL 60640 or you can go to the website at http://www.treehouseanimals.org/site/Donation@?400.donation=form1&df_id+1400.
