State Senator Bob Jauch, D-Poplar, will undergo complete hip replacement surgery on Friday.
The lawmaker said that he expects to be in the hospital for a day or two and looks forward to a full recovery in three to four weeks, according to a release from his office.
“I’m fortunate to have good health insurance and thanks to the quality health care that I have been able to receive, I can look forward to joining the growing ranks of citizens who have new hips and knees and can function in a more pain free manner,” Jauch said.
Jauch expects to be able to return to Madison for the September floor period and will be staying in close contact with his staff and his colleagues as he recovers.
