Traffic shifts on Blatnik BridgeBlatnik Bridge northbound lane closes Monday
The northbound or Duluth-bound, right lane on the Interstate 535/Blatnik Bridge closes to traffic for several weeks starting Monday.
It remains closed until late October, according to information from the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The southbound or Superior-bound right lane on the Blatnik Bridge re-opens Wednesday.
Temporary southbound right lane closures may occur after Wednesday, but will be open between 3 and 6 p.m.
The Blatnik Bridge two-year rehabilitation project began in May 2012. The work being done this year includes painting and the installation of a new decorative lighting system.
The reconstructed lanes will be smoother and safer for motorists, according to MinnDOT.
