Operation School Supplies was created to make certain that all children in our schools have what they need for their schoolwork. A nationwide partnership between Charter Communications, Charter Media, and Hallmark Channel, Operation School Supplies collects basic classroom materials; giving each child the tools they will need to learn.
Benna Ford, 3022 Tower Ave., is a drop site, and collects donations until Sept. 1. Benna Ford will match all donations and supplies, which will be donated to schools throughout the Twin Ports area. Benna Ford also will hold a monthly drawing during the drive for tickets to Noah’s Ark Park — waterpark passes only.
Operation School Supplies contributed to a number of schools and organizations throughout the Midwest last year. The goal is to do the same in the new school year. The program’s sponsors stress the importance of this community effort, which contributes to the development and education of students in the Twin Ports area. Bring supplies to Benna Ford, 3022 Tower Ave in Superior before Sept. 1.
Items needed include new backpacks, protractors, 1-inch binders, crayons, notebook paper, color markers, spiral notebooks, color pencils, calculators, assorted color folders, pencils and pens, pencil pouches, erasers, notebook dividers, glue, rulers and compasses.
