All Twin Ports area kids are invited to get artsy with the help of their parents.
The fifth-annual Art in Me festival, put on by the nonprofit Duluth and Beyond, began in 2008 as a way to love and care for the Twin Ports community by supporting families and children as they discover their God-given gifts of artistic expression.
The festival consists of a series of 16 booths where children can make a variety of masterpieces to take home.
The event features live music group dances, puppeteers and clowning.
This year the list of art projects includes leather name tags, face painting, cookie decorating, charcoal drawing, assembling contact paper nature collages, t-shirt painting, printmaking, photography, watercolor, making crazy hair, clay animals, pine cone bird feeders, musical instrument shakers and Birch bark art.
Children can expect to cart home armfuls of their own creations.
The free event runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Duluth’s Lester Park, 61st Avenue East. and Superior Street.
