More than 850 people signed on to participate in a colorful 5k event to raise money for Amberwing.
The Color Dash 5k takes place Aug. 11 at Barker’s Island Pavilion and the Osaugie Trail in Superior. Organized by the Miller-Dwan Foundation, this untimed, family-friendly fundraiser raises money to support the children, teens, young adults and families at Amberwing Center for Youth & Family Well-Being.
Registration for runners and walkers is still open at www.thecolordash5k.com. Tickets are $40 for individuals, $35 for teams and $80 for families of two to six people living in the same household.
Participants will start in white t-shirts and get pelted with color explosions as they pass through five different color zones along the Osaugie Trail. Additional activities include music, food and more fun activities for participants and spectators.
The Color Dash 5k is presented by Duluth Running Co. Additional sponsors include Essentia Children’s, The Edge Pilates Studio, National Bank of Commerce, Gramstrup Law Office, Complete Nutrition, Calumet Superior, Charter NEX Films, Northland’s NewsCenter, Arrowhead Printing, Superior Fire Department, Barker’s Island Inn and Vita Bella Photography.
