Ben entered the scouting world as a Tiger Cub Scout while in first grade at Northern Lights Elementary School.
In 2007, Ben crossed over from a Webelos Cub Scout to a Boy Scout. While working through the Boy Scout ranks, in 2010, Ben joined the Order of the Arrow and serves as the Ka’niss Ma’ingan Lodge treasurer.
Ben has been very active throughout his scouting career by attending various camps, donating hundreds of volunteer hours, and he earning 34 merit badges.
To complete the requirements for Eagle Scout, Ben needed to organize a community service project. For his project, he worked with the city of Superior’s Park and Recreation Administrator Mary Morgan to repaint the warming shelter at the Pattison Skating Rink on Faxon Street. In October, Ben organized fellow scouts and volunteers to complete the project.
Ben is a senior at Superior Senior High School and plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2014. Upon completing his Boy Scout career, Ben intends to continue involvement with scouting in an adult leadership capacity.
