The Superior Reds American Legion baseball team won a pair of games Tuesday night, 7-1 over Virginia and 10-2 over Proctor. Both games were played a Morrie Arnovich Field.
Ryan Myhre was the winning pitcher over Virginia, tossing a three-hitter with 15 strikeouts and one walk.
The lone run he gave up came in the third inning.
Superior scored three runs in the first inning and four more in the third.
Spencer Severson belted a home run and a double, and Colton Yepma had two doubles and three RBIs to lead the Reds on offense.
Taavi Matson also singled and stole a base, and Dane Sislo and Logan and Tyler Long added an RBI apiece.
Ben Monson had two of Virginia’s hits. Ryan Fontela had the other.
Jeremy Katz and Monson pitched for the Iron Rangers, allowing five hits with five strikeouts and four walks.
Clayton Yeazle was the complete-game winner against Proctor, allowing three hits with five strikeouts and three walks.
Proctor scored single runs in the first and fifth innings.
The Reds scored three times in the third and fifth innings and four times in the fourth.
Sislo led the Reds, going 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Tyler Long added a triple and two RBIs; Trent Olson singled three times; Colton Yepma doubled, singled twice and knocked in a run; Nik Mattson had a double and two RBIs; and Erick Anderson singled and had a sac fly.
The Reds also got singles from Myhre, Jordan Hughes and Andy Glonek.
Jack Nikko and Cody Lewis pitched for Proctor, allowing 16 hits with six strikeouts and three walks.
Nikko knocked in one of Proctor’s runs and scored the other.
Evan Scherber singled and scored the second run, and Joe Carter and Lewis added a single each.
The Reds are back in action at noon Sunday with a doubleheader at Eau Claire. The Reds will also host the district tournament from July 25-27.
