We would like to thank a few people who assisted us after hitting two deer on U.S. Highway 53 north of Solon Springs on June 8.
We were on our last day of vacation, having completed the Circle Tour around Lake Superior and made a quick stop at the Wascott Cemetery to visit the gravesites of our parents and grandparents.
We managed to hit two deer with the car that a cement mixer missed.
Thank you to the driver of the Solon Springs Concrete truck who turned around and made sure we were OK and called the sherriff’s office and tow truck.
Thank you to Deputy John Schimenek who filed the report and stayed with us until the tow truck driver came.
Thank you to Mark Androsky of Stadium Towing who went out of his way calling various places to get the car fixed but also to get us a loaner car.
Thank you to Len’s Auto Body for repairing the car and giving us a loaner car until the car was fixed. It turned out great.
There are still great people in Superior and the surrounding area where we grew up.
