Lutheran Social Services announced a change in the supervisory role within the Superior Clinic. John Ball, who has been the supervisor/manager for 18 years, reports that Marcia Domecq has assumed the full-time management position. Ball hired Domecq in December 2012, and she will now concentrate her duties as the supervisor of the clinic’s seven employees.
Domecq’s past work experience has included positions at Douglas County Human Services, the Human Development Center, and most recently, Northwest Journey Day Treatment Program. Domecq was awarded her master’s degree in counseling by the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 1993, and is licensed as a clinical social worker, a marriage and family therapist and a substance abuse counselor.
“In addition to her excellent clinical skills, Marcia has also served as a supervisor/manager in all of the clinic settings she has worked at over the past 30 years,” explains Ball. “Her expertise in working with a wide range of programming elements and management functions made her the logical choice to lead us into the next chapter of our rich heritage her in Superior.”
Ball will continue as a full-time therapist in the mental health clinic, a position he started out with 33 years ago.
“My heart is in the therapy part of what we do here, and I know that’s where I’ll do the most good for those we serve,” Ball said. “We’re very fortunate to have someone of Marcia’s caliber to take over the management responsibilities at LSS.”
In addition to the Counseling Clinic, Domecq will also oversee the financial counseling program and other emerging programs to be announced.
Marsha Krivinchuk will devote full time to financial counseling and program development and has 17 years with the agency.
