Linda J. Place, 62, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went home to Jesus on Monday, July 8, 2013.
Linda was born on July 21, 1950, in Superior, WIS. to Chet and Helen Anecki.
She graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1968; she then went on to obtain her nursing degree. Linda was a committed and talented nurse for over 38 years. She was currently employed at St. Francis Nursing Home.
Linda was married on Aug. 5, 1972, to Michael Finckler. They were married 20 years until Michael's death. They had two daughters, Heather and Bridgette.
Linda remarried on July 27, 2002, to Michael Place and they were married for almost 11 years.
Linda was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Linda was a diehard fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. She was a beautiful gardener, had a love of books and a passion for traveling.
She gave herself to those she loved fully and completely. If you knew her, you were blessed.
Linda is survived by her husband, Michael; two daughters, Heather (Sean) Brennan, Superior, Wis. and Bridgette Finckler, Coon Rapids, Minn.; three grandchildren, Tristan, Ireland and Stella Brennan; one brother, Art (Sue) Anecki, Buffalo, Minn.; one sister, Debbie (Mike) Hill, Superior, Wis.; close friends, Cindi (Thom) Holden and Mary Jo McKenna and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Michael Finckler.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 14 at the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior. Visitation will resume at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 15 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Belknap Street, Superior and continue until the 11 a.m. Memorial Mass with Rev. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.
