The City of Superior Environmental Services Division of Public Works Environmental Matters webinar series continues. The live webinars are held twice a month and cover a variety of topics relating to water and the environment. Each lasts about a half hour. Upcoming topics include “Most Wanted: Aquatic Invasive Species” at noon today with guest Carrie Sanda from the Lake Superior Research Institute, “Lake Superior Day” at noon July 9 with guest Lissa Radke of the Lake Superior Bi-National Forum, and “Household Hints on Saving Water” at noon July 23.
Webinars are live online presentations. Participants will view a presentation controlled by city personnel. They will also be able to hear and interact with the speakers live. After the webinar has concluded, a recording of the session will be available on the web to view at any time.
Registration for the webinars is at www.ci.superior.wi.us/webinar. The webinars are free, but participants should register if possible. Past webinars are archived and include topics such as rain barrels, composting and native plants. There is also information about the webinar series on the blog www.superiorstormwater.blogspot.com.
As an incentive for city of Superior residents who participate in the webinars, we will be giving away a free compost bin valued at $100 to one lucky participant through November. For every webinar you attend, you will gain one entry in the drawing. For more information or to suggest a topic for a webinar, contact Jillian Edwards or Wendy Grethen at 715-394-0392.
